About
Young adult audiences are thirsty to see themselves represented in stories that reflect the diversity of their experiences. Blank Page Productions is a collective of young artists committed to radical honesty. Their debut production, From the Wreckage has proven itself as an opportunity to bring young people into theatre as performers and audience members.
Like all great rock and roll, From the Wreckage is about pushing boundaries. We show women as innovators of rock music by reinvigorating the genre with innovative rhythms and bass lines, inventive guitar solos and lyrics steeped in complex imagery. The most revolutionary element of this story is its centre on women’s relationships - friendships, familial and romantic. This story is a protest against over simplified and over sexualized “coming-out” stories of young Queer women. Our characters confront their vulnerability, tenderness, intimacy, loss and capacity for growth.
